General information
The normal registration period for the 2010 season runs from mid-November, 2009 (we will announce on the Google group) through January 31, 2010. MAG-U accepts player registrations in the order in which they are received. No prior experience is required to play lacrosse. If there are any roster spots available after the normal registration period, MAG-U will continue to accept registrations up until March 1, 2010.

To request financial assistance, please complete our confidential financial grant application form. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact MAG-U’s Financial Aid Committee.
US Lacrosse Membership
MAG-U obtains its insurance through US Lacrosse and for it to be effective, ALL players and coaches are required to have US Lacrosse memberships that expire after 06/30/2010. If even one MAG-U member plays or practices with a US Lacrosse membership that expires earlier than that date, MAG-U’s insurance could be nullified. Prior to starting the online registration process, please go to http://www.lacrosse.org/membership/updates.phtml to find your child’s expiration date. If you happen to renew the US Lacrosse membership, go back to this link to get the date after making payment.
Season and Expectations
Practices will start February 2nd and games occur on Saturdays from March 6th to early June. Our season will consist of a total of 10 games and two bye weeks. Boys U11 games consist of two 20 min half's while the boys U13 and U15 games consist of four 10 min quarters. Practices are an hour and thirty minutes two times a week and the time will depend on field availability as assigned by Seattle’s Parks and Recreation Dept. Because of the demand for lacrosse and the limited roster spots, we request players to make lacrosse their spring commitment. Coaches expect attendance to be better than 85% for practice and games. Please consider this before registering.
Uniforms and Equipment
Lacrosse is a contact sport and requires the following equipment: shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, lacrosse stick, helmet, protective cup, mouth guard, and cleats. MAG-U will provide uniforms consisting of jerseys and shorts for each player for the 2010 season. MAG-U also has a limited amount of equipment (shoulder pads, arm pads, and gloves) to loan. Both the uniforms and loaned equipment are property of MAG-U and must be returned at the end of the season.
If you are interested in borrowing equipment, please make your request when completing the online registration form. Once again we will honor requests on a first come, first served basis. A $100 deposit check is needed from every MAG-U player – even those players who own all their own gear (to cover uniforms). Specific dates and times for each team to collect the deposit checks and distribute uniforms and loaned equipment will be communicated. These checks will be returned without being cashed when the player returns the uniform and equipment. MAG-U will only cash checks from those who do not return uniforms and equipment within the specified time period or from those who return MAG-U’s property in damaged condition.
Volunteer Opportunities
MAG-U is a nonprofit organization and run entirely by a volunteer board and the parents/guardians of the players. As such, MAG-U requires that at least one parent/guardian choose a volunteer position during the online registration process. The volunteer positions are:
